1. Who we are
DriverMod is built and operated by Gaijin Motorsports LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the DriverMod app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. For any privacy question or request, email support@gaijinmotorsports.com.
2. What DriverMod collects
Account
Your email address and a user ID used to sign you in. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth; we never store your password.
Driving telemetry
GPS position, speed, and accelerometer and gyroscope data recorded during sessions you start, plus any track start/finish lines you create. This data is stored on your device as CSV files. It is uploaded to our servers only when you tap Enhance or request coaching, and is then stored with your account so you can re-open the results.
Coaching
To generate a coaching debrief, we send an anonymized summary of the session's physics to a third-party AI model provider. The raw GPS trace is never sent. The resulting debrief text is stored with your account.
Video
Session video you record never leaves your device unless you export a clip and share it yourself.
Garage and setup data
The cars, modifications and setup values you enter.
Purchases
Subscription status and receipt validation are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We store whether you have DriverMod Pro and when it expires. We never receive or store your card details.
Optional device link
If you connect a RaceBox GPS device, its data is treated exactly like your phone's GPS data.
Diagnostics
Crash and error logs that help us find and fix problems.
Waitlist
If you join the DriverMod waitlist on our website, we collect your email address, when you joined and how you found us (for example, the link you followed). We use it only to email you about DriverMod: your beta invite, launch news and occasional development updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your waitlist record deleted, email support@gaijinmotorsports.com.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the app's features: lap timing, session analysis and AI coaching.
- To operate and verify subscriptions.
- To enforce fair-use limits on AI coaching and prevent automated abuse.
- To respond to support requests.
4. Third parties and processors
We share data only with the service providers needed to run DriverMod:
- Apple — App Store distribution and in-app purchases (StoreKit).
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- Render — hosting for our API.
- Loops — email delivery for the waitlist.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google — generates coaching debriefs from anonymized session summaries.
- MapLibre / Mapbox — map tiles. Map imagery requests include your approximate map viewport.
- Carfolio — vehicle reference data. No user data is sent to Carfolio.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Retention
- Uploaded telemetry and coaching results are kept until you delete the session or your account.
- Purchase records are kept according to Apple's and RevenueCat's retention policies.
- Diagnostic logs are kept for no more than 90 days.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can delete individual sessions in the app at any time.
- To delete your account and its data, email support@gaijinmotorsports.com from the address on your account.
- You can export your session data as CSV from within the app.
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
7. Subscriptions
DriverMod Pro is billed yearly or monthly, renews automatically, and can be cancelled at any time. Manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. See our Terms of Service for details.
8. Children
DriverMod is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS, and our database uses row-level security so each account can access only its own data. Video and raw telemetry stay on your device by default. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, show a notice in the app.
